
Blue Devils Wrap Up Competition at Southern Intercollegiates

Athens, Ga. ? The Duke men's tennis team concluded play at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga. on Sunday.
The Blue Devils' doubles team of David Goulet and Christopher Price were the lone Duke duo left in the tournament. They wound up losing in the quarterfinals of the Division I bracket.
Goulet and Price started the day with a match against Winthrop's Vinicius Bortolatto and Rodrigo Santos. The duke pair won 8-3 to move on to the quarterfinals. They then faced Georgia's Travis Helgeson and Jamie Hunt but lost a close match, 8-6. Goulet and Price are now 3-2 on the season as a doubles team.
Alain Michel won his second straight consolation match on Sunday. He claimed a straight set 6-1, 6-2 victory to improve to 2-3 on the year.
Next weekend the Blue Devils will host the Duke Tennis Alumni Weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Several former Duke players will be in town to compete against the current roster.
