WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three Duke golfers – junior
Bryan Kim and seniors
Ethan Evans and
William Love – enter the Bryan Bros Collegiate boasting under-par scoring averages as the Blue Devils prepare for their third event of the fall season at Solina Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament, hosted by South Carolina, begins with the first round on Sunday, Sept. 28, and the last two rounds on Monday, Sept. 29.
Kim leads Duke with a 71.00 scoring average and has recorded four under-par rounds, including scores of 69 and 67, in just six competitive rounds this season. Evans ranks second on the team with a 71.33 scoring average and has posted three rounds in the 60s, while Love owns a 71.50 average with five par-or-better rounds in six outings.
Sophomore
Sam Mukherjee and freshman
Charles Nelson will round out Duke's lineup, while senior
Daniel Choi is set to compete as an individual.
The 15-team field features three programs ranked among Golfweek's preseason top 25, led by No. 7 LSU, followed by No. 20 South Carolina and No. 23 Duke. In the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll released Sept. 19, LSU is ranked No. 9, while South Carolina, Duke and Clemson are all receiving votes.
Joining the field in West Columbia are Augusta, Charleston, Charlotte, Liberty, Little Rock, Mercer, NC State, North Florida, UAB, Winthrop and Yale.
