NEED TO KNOW
- The Duke women's soccer team hits the road this weekend as the ninth-ranked Blue Devils travel to Newton, Mass., to face Boston College Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. The contest will be played at the Newton Campus Field.Â
- The match will air live on the ACCNX with Eric Gallanty (PXP) and Luis Sanchez (color) calling the action.
- Duke will hit the road for the first of two consecutive road contests at Boston College and at SMU over the next two Saturdays. Overall, the Blue Devils will have three out of their next four contests on the road.Â
- Senior Phoebe Goldthwaite will face her sister Baylor, who is a graduate student on the Boston College squad.Â
- Seniors Cameron Roller and Mia Oliaro were named captains for 2026.Â
- Head coach Kieran Hall is in his second year as head coach of the Blue Devils, after leading Duke to the NCAA College Cup in his first season in 2025 with a 17-5-1 record.
- The No. 3 preseason ranking for Duke marks the fourth time in the last five seasons the Blue Devils have been a preseason top-five team and the 10th time in school history.Â

STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES
- Duke is 13-0-2 in October matches dating back the last three years.Â
- Over the last 11 true road matches, Mia Minestrella has scored in nine of them. The lone games in which she has not scored were at UCLA and Pittsburgh. She scored in all six true road games in 2025. Over the last three years, Minestrella has scored in 11-of-18 true road matches.Â
- Four Blue Devils were on the Hermann Trophy midseason watch list announced this week -- Sam Courtwright, Katie Shea Collins, Mia Minestrella and Cameron Roller. The four Blue Devils were the most of any team nationally.
- The Blue Devils have scored only two goals over the last three contests after scoring 29 in the first eight matches.Â
- Duke currently features nine different players who have scored at least one goal this season.Â
- Mia Minestrella became the first Blue Devil to notch three straight seasons with 10 or more goals. She has scored 40 goals over her last 51 matches. During that span, Minestrella has recorded 13 assists and 93 points.Â

THE SERIES WITH BOSTON COLLEGE
- Duke and Boston College will meet for the 23rd time in program history with the Blue Devils leading the series, 15-4-3.
- Duke owns a 4-3-2 ledger in matches played at Boston College.
- The Blue Devils have won eight straight meetings against the Eagles and are unbeaten over their last nine. Duke's last loss to Boston College came on Oct. 6, 2013 in Newton.
- Duke won the most recent road meeting, 2-0, on Sept. 17, 2023.
- The Blue Devils last faced the Eagles Oct. 19, 2024 with Duke totaling a 7-0 victory. Three current Blue Devils totaled goals in the match -- Mia Oliaro (2), Mia Minestrella and Sophia Recupero.Â

SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE
- Boston College enters the weekend with a 9-2-1 overall and 2-2-1 ACC mark. After opening the season with eight straight wins, the Eagles have gone 1-2-1 over their last four matches, with losses to Notre Dame and California, a tie against Clemson and a 3-1 win over SMU.Â
- In home matches, the Eagles are 6-1-0 with the lone loss coming to California.
- Boston College features four players with four or more goals -- Sophie Reale (6 goals, 5 assists), Emily Mara (4 goals, 7 assists), Nicollette Klorpes (7 goals) and Addison Kalaw (6 goals).Â

LAST MEETING AGAINST BOSTON COLLEGE
- The Blue Devils last faced the Eagles Oct. 19, 2024 with Duke earning a 7-0 victory. Three current Blue Devils totaled goals in the match -- Mia Oliaro (2), Mia Minestrella and Sophia Recupero.Â
- Oliaro scored in the 37th and 65th minutes, while Minestrella notched a goal in the 38th minute and added two assists. She scored or assisted on each of the first three goals.

- Duke senior Phoebe Goldthwaite will face her sister, Baylor, a graduate student on the Eagles' roster.Â

- Baylor played at Wake Forest in 2023 and 2024, before transferring to Boston College.

TRAVERS NETS IMPRESSIVE GOAL, EARNS HONORS
- Duke sophomore defender Jocelyn Travers netted her first goal of the season and second career tally in the second half against Notre Dame to tie the match, 1-1. She struck an impressive left-footed attempt from the top of the box.
- She then helped the Duke defense record a shutout against Pittsburgh on the road in the next contest as Travers played the full 90 minutes.
- Travers was named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week for her efforts.Â

SCORING AGAINST THE ACC
- Duke senior Mia Minestrella has scored a goal against 13 different ACC teams (regular season and postseason). The only teams she has not scored a goal against are – Syracuse (one meeting), Florida State (one meeting) and Wake Forest (two meetings)
- In 2026, Minestrella has scored in three of Duke's five ACC regular-season games, totaling three goals in those matches.
- In 2025, Minestrella scored in seven of her 10 ACC regular-season games and had a total of eight goals in those matches.

- Duke senior Mia Minestrella currently owns 10 goals so far in 2026 to become the first Duke student-athlete to total three straight seasons with 10 or more goals.
