EVANSTON, Ill. – The 19th-ranked Duke women's swimming and diving team claimed a 192-142 victory over Northwestern Saturday afternoon inside the Norris Aquatics Center, improving to 2-0 all-time against the Wildcats. On the men's side, Northwestern defeated Duke, 216-118. The Blue Devil women set seven pool records en route to the victory.

TOP PERFORMANCES – FRIDAY:
- Duke posted 10 first-place finishes on the first day of the meet, including a sweep of the 400-yard freestyle relay and 100-yard breaststroke.
- The women's quartet of senior Tatum Wall, junior Ali Pfaff, senior Emily Gantriis and freshman Heather White earned the comfortable win via a time of 3:13.22. On the men's side, the Blue Devil relay of junior Milo Shue, freshmen Owen Waibel and Charlie Kulp and sophomore Colin Mikulecky clocked 2:56.97 to clinch first place.
- Rookie Anderson Kopp earned a victory in the men's 1000-yard freestyle, swimming to a finish of 9:12.74 – nearly three seconds faster than the runner-up. Kopp's time was a personal best and moved him up to No. 4 all-time on the Duke charts.
- Keira Lu represented the Blue Devils in the women's 3-meter dive and picked up her fifth first-place finish of the season. The sophomore delivered a commanding performance, posting a score of 330.00 to cement herself atop the field.
- Pfaff secured her second win of the evening – this one coming in the 100-yard backstroke –touching the wall in 51.53.
- Senior Kaelyn Gridley and junior Jack Smith locked up first-place finishes for Duke in the 100 breaststroke. Gridley came in at 59.21 while Smith powered to a season's best of 54.14.
- The women's 200-meter butterfly saw senior Martina Peroni lead wire-to-wire en route to posting her fastest performance of the season with a time of 1:57.28.
- Duke closed out day one with two more standout showings in the women's 50-yard freestyle and the women's 200-yard medley relay, respectively.
- In the 50 free, Wall touched first in 21.93 while over in the 200 medley relay, the Blue Devil foursome of Pfaff, Gridley, White and Wall blazed to a 1:36.73 finish.
TOP PERFORMANCES – SATURDAY:
- The Blue Devils collected eight event wins Saturday to push their weekend total to 18.
- In the women's 400-yard medley, Duke's relay of sophomore Clare Logan, Gridley, White and Wall blew their competition out of the water and produced a time of 3:32.31 – five seconds faster than the runners-up.
- In the diving portion of Saturday's slate, Lu notched her second triumph of the weekend via the women's 1-meter dive with a score of 303.75.
- Pfaff captured her fourth win of the weekend after hitting the wall in 1:53.59 in the women's 200-yard backstroke.
- Gridley (2:09.93) and freshman Raphael Wang (1:56.82) delivered seasons bests in their respective races and swam past their competition to power Duke to a sweep of the men's and women's 200-yard breaststroke. Wang's mark slotted himself No. 6 all-time in program lore.
- Wall and White kept the momentum going for the Blue Devils as the duo earned their fifth and fourth titles of the weekend, respectively, with strong performances in their events. Wall competed in the 100-yard freestyle and posted a time of 48.09, while White took part in the 100-yard butterfly and completed her race in 53.73.
- Duke closed out action in the pool with an exciting race in the women's 200-yard freestyle relay. The event went down-to-the-wire, with the Blue Devil foursome of Wall, Pfaff, Gantriis and White closing strong to edge out the hosts with a 1:29.38 finish.
UP NEXT:
Duke diving will take part in the Georgia Tech Invitational from Nov. 13-15 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Blue Devils will compete alongside Alabama, Auburn, East Carolina, Florida State and Virginia Tech.
